DESGAGNÉ, Jean-Michel

BSc candidate and intern
Bachelor of Engineering candidate, Department of Geomatics Sciences, Université Laval
Jean-Michel Desgagné is a fourth-year B.Sc. student in Geomatics Engineering and an intern with the team.
Prior to his internship, Jean-Michel had already worked with members of the Chair, as part of a team of 3 bachelor's students involved in the IndoorNav project, whose aim is to develop guidance technologies in indoor environments for people with disabilities. This project relies on the use of beacons to ensure the fine positioning of people in complex buildings such as Université Laval's Pavillon Louis-Jacques Casault. Through this project, Jean-Michel developed not only technical skills, but also a better understanding of human subjects in geomatics issues and expertise in project management.
Today, as an intern, Jean-Michel is involved in the 3D modeling of interior environments, which will be useful (among other things) for the continuation of the IndoorNav project.
