Naomi Turcotte is interested in the relationship between the built environment and the users of public space. Currently a candidate to the profession of urban planner with the Ordre des urbanistes du Québec, she has acquired academic and professional experience in urban logistics, universal accessibility, active transportation and urban design.
Her intervention project aims to evaluate the walkability of a Montreal borough for elderly people with reduced mobility. This initiative enables her to put into practice the knowledge gained from her Master's degree in Geomatics, by combining her fields of interest with geospatial analysis. Her goal is to develop a decision-making tool to improve the quality of pedestrian routes for seniors and encourage active aging.
