Postdoctoral Fellow, Department of Geomatics and Rehabilitation Sciences, Université Laval
Ali Afghantoloee's interests cover a diverse range of cutting-edge topics, including indoor navigation, wireless geospatial sensor networks, the Internet of Things (IoT), geographic information science (GIS), Web GIS, Mobile GIS, cloud computing, data analysis, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and sustainable development.
His current research focuses on indoor navigation systems supporting people with reduced mobility for different applications. One of the projects in which he is involved, called Axc-ÉvaQ, is linked to an evacuation system designed to guide firefighters to find people to be rescued more easily and quickly, based on a location-sharing system developed by Esri Indoor. Another project, iMobility, focuses on the functionality, capacity and usability of the Esri Indoors application for different profiles of people with reduced mobility.
