PANAHI, Nadiya

MSc Candidate

Master of Sciences candidate in the Department of Geomatics Sciences, Université Laval

As an urban designer, Nadiya works at the intersection of urban dynamics and cultural contexts. Her ambition is to design more inclusive and resilient cities by leveraging technology, innovation, and citizen participation. She is committed to amplifying the voice of local communities by integrating concepts such as culture, identity, and originality into planning projects. Convinced that urban challenges can be effectively addressed by mobilizing the collective intelligence of citizens — including non-experts — and by valuing the unique historical heritage of each city, Nadiya adopts a collaborative and contextual approach. In her local and academic work, she strives to strengthen cultural identity while taking into account climate and living conditions.

She is currently working on a project focused on smart cities, exploring how digital technologies can foster social participation among aging populations.
