Augmented and virtual reality

Virtual reality and augmented reality are emerging tools for research on inclusive mobility themes. The Chair offers several immersive equipment to its members in order to develop their research.

The Chair has a number of advanced virtual and augmented reality facilities that enable the team to explore various scenarios relating to inclusive mobility. This enables the team to experiment more quickly and easily with innovations that could potentially change the cities of tomorrow. The equipment includes virtual reality headsets (one of which also enables eye tracking), augmented reality goggles and a 3D immersive space, based on stereoscopic technology.

The Chair also uses 3D modeling solutions to create experimental indoor and outdoor environments that enable us to measure interactional behaviors in detail, while limiting risky situations for vulnerable people. In particular, the Unity software suite is put to good use.
