KARIMINEJAD, Mohammad Mahdi

Visiting doctoral student
PhD candidate in the Faculty of Surveying and Geomatics Engineering, University of Tehran
Mohammad is a visiting PhD student from the Faculty of Surveying and Geomatics Engineering at the University of Tehran. He completed both his bachelor's and master's degrees at the University of Tehran, achieving outstanding academic performance.
His undergraduate thesis focused on precise point positioning through the utilization of astronomical observations. During his master's program, following the completion of his coursework, he focused on advanced methods in estimation theory, specifically total least squares adjustment and regularization techniques.
His current research project focuses on enhancing the accuracy and quality of integrated navigation systems utilizing low-cost sensors in indoor environments. He employs various positioning methods, including radio sensors analogous to Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), ultra-wideband (UWB), and ultrasound waves. Additionally, he incorporates micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) inertial measurement units (IMUs), such as accelerometers, gyroscopes, and magnetometers, to facilitate dead reckoning.
Mohammad is interested in wireless positioning, indoor navigation, GNSS-INS integration, sensor fusion for navigational purposes, and estimation theory and mathematical developments of navigation algorithms.
