Digital twin for circular enonomy and energy

The preservation and optimization of energy resources has become a central issue for our societies. The digital twin helps to meet these challenges.

How can a technology such as the digital territory twin contribute to the development of a circular economy in the energy sector? This is the question being addressed by a project funded by the Réseau de Recherche en Economie Circulaire du Québec (RRECQ).

In partnership with Hydro Québec and the École de Technologie Supérieure de Montréal, the aim of this project is to reflect on the circularity of an often intangible commodity such as energy, and to propose several use cases for the use of digital territory twins to facilitate decision-making in terms of circularity. Ultimately, this project will develop several scenarios on the scale of Quebec City to illustrate the potential of digital twins for energy circularity.
