iAccès
iAccès is a research project focusing on the automatic segmentation of LiDAR point clouds in order to identify and characterize the elements of the built environment involved in the accessibility.
Urban environments are changing rapidly, and it is currently impossible to carry out systematic manual surveys of obstacles to mobility. However, the democratization of mobile LiDAR and SLAM systems makes it increasingly easy to carry out field survey campaigns to monitor changes in the built urban environment.
The iAccès project, funded by the Quebec Ministry of the Economy, Innovation and Energy, aims to train AIs for the automatic segmentation of LiDAR point clouds in order to automatically extract obstacles in the terrain (slopes, holes, steps, etc.).
